A driveway is the largest piece of concrete on most properties and the one that takes the most abuse — vehicle loads, road salt and Michigan freeze-thaw cycles. Most driveways that crack early failed underneath, not on the surface.

We remove and haul away the old driveway, correct the subgrade, install and compact the base, form to the correct grade, place the concrete and finish it for traction and drainage. Water is pitched away from the house and garage, not toward it.

How long before I can drive on a new concrete driveway?

We'll give you specific timing for your project at the walkthrough. As a general rule, stay off it with foot traffic for the first day or two and keep vehicles off considerably longer while the concrete gains strength.

Can you replace only part of the driveway?

Often yes. If sections have failed but the rest is sound, we can remove and replace those areas and match them to the existing work as closely as possible.

Why do concrete driveways crack in Michigan?

Freeze-thaw cycles, poor base preparation and inadequate jointing are the usual causes. A compacted base and a proper joint layout are the two things that make the biggest difference.

Do you clean up and repair the lawn afterward?

Yes. Debris is hauled away and we address areas disturbed during the work before the final walkthrough.
