How much do concrete steps cost?

Steps and landings are priced individually rather than by square foot, because the cost is in the forming, the footing and the detail work rather than the surface area. Cieslak Concrete has a $2,500 minimum for concrete installation projects, and step replacement is often combined with adjacent walkway or porch work. For flatwork poured at the same time, new broom-finish concrete generally runs $8–$11 per square foot and removal and replacement $9–$12 on projects of approximately 1,000 square feet or more.

Can crumbling steps be resurfaced instead of replaced?

Resurfacing is generally a short-term patch. When the concrete is spalling or the structure has settled, replacement is the fix that lasts.

Do you rebuild porches and landings too?

Yes — landings and porch slabs are commonly replaced along with the steps so the whole entry is consistent.
