Concrete Steps & Landings

Deteriorated entry steps removed and rebuilt square, with even risers, a solid footing below and a landing that drains.

Crumbling entry steps are one of the most common concrete problems we're called about — and one of the most important to fix, since they're a daily trip and fall risk right at the front door.

We remove the failing steps, address the footing and base below, and rebuild the steps and landing square, with even risers and a finish that sheds water instead of holding it.

Why steps fail — and how we prevent it

Support below

Most step failures start with settlement or a poorly supported base. We correct what's underneath before rebuilding.

Even risers

Riser heights are kept consistent so the steps feel safe and predictable underfoot.

Water management

Treads and the landing are pitched slightly so water runs off rather than sitting and freezing in place.

Tie-in to the entry

Steps are formed to meet the door threshold and the walk cleanly, without awkward gaps or lips.

Common questions

Can crumbling steps be resurfaced instead of replaced?
Resurfacing is generally a short-term patch. When the concrete is spalling or the structure has settled, replacement is the fix that lasts.
Do you rebuild porches and landings too?
Yes — landings and porch slabs are commonly replaced along with the steps so the whole entry is consistent.
Can you add a railing?
We can form the steps to accommodate railing posts. Let us know at the estimate so it's planned in.
