A concrete shed pad or slab is a formed, reinforced slab placed on a compacted aggregate base and sized to the building footprint or the equipment it will carry. Cieslak Concrete Construction pours garage floors, shed and accessory building pads, equipment and generator pads, dumpster pads and commercial slabs throughout Macomb and Oakland County, setting thickness and reinforcement to the load the slab will actually see.

What they have in common is that performance is decided by the base and the reinforcement, not the surface. We prep the subgrade, compact the aggregate base, set thickness and reinforcement to the intended use, then place, finish and joint the slab.

What it costs
New broom-finish concrete
$8–$11 per sq. ft.
Typical pricing for projects of approximately 1,000 sq. ft. or more. Smaller projects are priced individually, and there is a $2,500 minimum for concrete installation projects. New concrete placed where there is nothing to tear out — driveway additions, patios, walkways, slabs and shed pads.

- How much does a concrete slab or shed pad cost?
- New broom-finish concrete generally runs $8–$11 per square foot on projects of approximately 1,000 square feet or more. Most shed pads and garage slabs are smaller than that, so they are priced individually, with a $2,500 minimum for concrete installation projects. Thickness and reinforcement have a real effect on slab pricing, since a pad built for equipment or vehicles uses more concrete and steel than one carrying a shed.
- Does a shed pad need a gravel base?
- Yes. A compacted aggregate base under a shed pad keeps the slab supported evenly and lets water drain away instead of collecting under it and heaving through a Michigan winter. Skipping the base is the usual reason a shed slab ends up cracked or out of level within a few years.
- How thick should a garage floor or shed slab be?
- It depends on what's going on it. We set thickness and reinforcement based on the actual use — a shed slab and a slab that will hold vehicles or equipment are not the same build.
- Can you pour a slab for a building I already bought?
- Yes. Bring us the footprint and anchor requirements and we'll form the slab to match.
- Do you do commercial slabs to spec?
- Yes — interior and exterior commercial slabs placed and finished to the thickness, reinforcement and tolerances the plans call for.
